Members of each organization attend VIP graduations to present students with VIP t-shirts and encourage them to be good citizens of our community.

The VIP program has been very effective in building positive community-police relations over the years. Students meet their VIP officer on six different occasions and establish a positive relationship that can last a lifetime. Lessons taught to students include authority and authority figures, young people and the law (shoplifting/vandalism), bike and helmet safety, bullying and good choices (drugs). The lessons are preventative in nature and allow students to assess the consequences of negative behavior.
