BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) – The Boca Raton Police Department wants you to know that they don’t sell shirts, and they certainly aren’t for sale.

The gendarmerie warns against a scam which spreads by SMS. According to the PD, scammers send personalized messages with this language:

“Dear (your name), Boca Raton Police Department Shirt, $10 off, ready to order now.”

Officials ask that you delete the text if you receive it, or ignore posts or tweets containing similar language. The police department is a law enforcement agency, not a clothing distributor.

We also note that it is illegal in Florida to possess anything that makes you look like a police officer if you are not a police officer.
