Although he had to watch his team on the sidelines on Wednesday when they faced the Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers big man Jusuf Nurkic was always able to make the headlines due to a rather comical message he had. on his shirt.
Nurkic, who has some history with one of the Nuggets’ broadcast commentators, decided to relive that horrific moment from last season:
Nurk’s troll play continues here in Denver, as he appears to be wearing a “kick in the shin” shirt. For those who don’t remember, the Denver announcer said this over the radio during the playoffs last season. #RipCity pic.twitter.com/RTndB1vVDR

Last season, the Blazers and Nuggets featured in an epic seven-game Western Conference semifinal streak. The battle got so intense that at one point Nuggets radio analyst Scott Hastings suggested it would be a good idea to kick Nurkic in the shin because of his actions on the bench :
“Kick him in the shin.” “

Regardless of whether Hastings was serious or not, deliberately injuring a competitor certainly has no place in the NBA, or any type of sport for that matter. Also, don’t forget that Nurkic was already out of action by then after suffering a horrific leg injury late in the regular season.
Nurkic doesn’t seem to have forgotten that unsavory comment and made sure the general public remembers the same on Wednesday. Unfortunately for him and the Blazers, they ended up losing to a thriving Nuggets team, 114-99.
To add more spice to this narrative, it’s also worth noting that Nurkic spent the first two and a half seasons of his career with Denver before being traded to Portland midway through the 2016-17 campaign. There doesn’t appear to be any disagreement between Nurkic and his former team, but the same can’t be said for his feelings towards a particular Nuggets commentator.
