Have you ever had a bad experience with your tailor? Either the guy got overly adept when it came to measuring your inseam or the result just wasn’t worth the tailor-made price. Well, why not cut off the middle man?

Start of men’s fashion MTailor recently launched an app that uses your tablet or smartphone’s camera (iOS and Android compatible) to take your measurements. Does this sound weird? We had our doubts too, until we tried. After placing your device on the ground, the app asks you to step back, place your body in a “winning” pose (see images below) and rotate 360 °.

The MTailor app captures what appears on the screen and compares the images with your height and weight, which you entered manually (so no cheating!). Then you can choose the fabric you like and add customizable features, such as buttons on the collar or a monograph of your initials on the sleeve.

According to MTailor, the app is scientifically proven to be 20% more accurate than a professional tailor, with shirts starting at $ 69 affordable. The shirt arrives three weeks after you submit your information, and it turns out the fit is weirdly precise. However, if there is a problem, MTailor offers to remake your shirt immediately, free of charge.

Want to give it a shot? Go to MTailor.com to download the application.
