Galvin Green Monty Polo Review

For this review of the Galvin Green Monty Polo, we put this premium garment through its paces over multiple laps and while training to assess every aspect of performance and determine if it is one of the best golf shirts on the market.

What is my height/what is my build?
I’m just over 6ft 3in and pretty slim.

What do I normally wear? Does it fit large/small?
In polo I normally wear a size medium but on occasion it may require a large depending on the brand. I tested the Galvin Green Monty in size medium and found it to fit well. If anything it was maybe a little tight – something I expected as Galvin Green clothes tend to run a little small.

How did it fit/feel/execute?
As mentioned, the fit was overall very good, and I think going for the medium was the right choice. In terms of sensations, it certainly did not disappoint. Galvin Green has always been known for its quality, so it’s no surprise that this polo shirt is extremely comfortable and soft to the touch.

Thanks to the stretchy fabric used in the construction, it also allowed complete swinging freedom, moving with my body rather than against it, which not all polo shirts do. Plus, it’s highly breathable, making it a great option when the sun decides to come out. It would definitely rank among the best golf shirts for men.

Style wise, it’s something I would wear again even if I wasn’t completely sold on this particular color. Galvin Green’s double G logo is prominent but can only really be seen on close inspection; from a distance they look like peas. I tested it in light blue but it also exists in navy, black, green and red. If I had the choice, I would opt for the navy blue color.

Any additional details we noticed?
What I noticed is that the sleeves are quite short. For those who have arms and have spent time sculpting, I imagine this will be a big plus; for others it could be a hit or a miss. Another thing to mention is that this garment is made from durable fabrics and labels.

Can you wear it off the course?
It would certainly be appropriate in any clubhouse before or after a round. Other than that, I think it would be best left in the closet.

How does it come out of the wash/do you need to iron it?
This particular top came out of the wash just fine. I didn’t notice any shrinkage and it dried very quickly. Provided you take a little care when drying, the iron can remain in its case.
