Cult Buy: Conner Ives’ recycled t-shirt dresses are key to Vogue’s editorial staff
Unsurprisingly, they are a bestseller. British vogueThe Naomi Smart business manager has worn Conner’s T-shirt dresses for several years, from Vogue House to dinner and beyond. “It’s safe to say that my Conner Ives cycling dress is the most worn dress in my wardrobe,” she says. Instead of conventional maternity clothes, she wore the stretchy versions of the dresses, which are made from recycled spandex cycle suits, throughout her pregnancy. “Conner’s dresses are seasonless, timeless and have taken me from work events, road trips to France and Ibiza to being pregnant (can’t beat that stretch!) and back again.”
The largest vogue the team followed suit. Deputy Director of vogueGlobal fashion network Laura Ingham and shopping editor Jess Gerardi embraced the recent drop and repeatedly wore them to the office. “It’s the perfect day-to-night summer number,” says Jess. “I fell for the sleeveless style, which I wear with short shorts or pants.”
Conner attributes the success of T-shirt dresses to the ingenious simplicity of the design. “I think they represent what I represent so perfectly,” he says. “Regenerated items, a bit of wit and humor, all in a simple silhouette that’s both utterly unique.” The best part? You never know which one you’re going to get.
Expect drops in four-panel t-shirt dress styles later in the year, and head to Conner’s online store to browse the pieces of the new fall/winter 2022 collection: from scarf tops to shirts and t-shirts.
