Beauty fan uses t-shirt to achieve bouncy blow-dry – with “Dyson Airwrap” results
The Dyson Airwrap is one of the most sought-after hair tools for creating a salon-worthy blow-dry, but it doesn’t come cheap at around £ 450. But what if we told you that there is a way to achieve similar results without breaking the bank?
This is exactly what one woman claims, after sharing her tip for getting perfectly bouncy hair at home, using nothing more than a t-shirt and a few pom poms.
The creator, named My Pawfect family on TikTok, is already famous for his incredible hair. Not only is he super long, his curls are always crisp and full of volume.
His secret? She does not use hot styling tools. Instead, she holds her hair in place using a DIY “donut” t-shirt before sleeping in it overnight to reveal curls worthy of a salon blow-dry.
âYou left your Dyson airwrap at my house,â she wrote on the clip, combing her long, luscious locks with a fine-tooth comb.
âWe’re not spending $ 500 on something we can do with a t-shirt,â she continues.
On his TikTok account, the user also shared a in-depth tutorial for how she created the DIY hair donut using just a t-shirt and pom poms.
First, she takes a regular t-shirt, lays it flat on the floor, and starts rolling it from the bottom to form a sausage shape. She then uses balls of hair to keep it from untangling and secures both ends with a thicker ball.
She explains how using two t-shirts to create a thicker donut will give you sleek hair with a Megan Markle film, while one t-shirt will create more defined curls.
In a separate clip, she explains how to apply the donut to her hair. First, she cuts the top of her hair and sprays it with water.
After placing the donut on her head, she wraps her hair up and down, layer by layer, starting at the top, until all of her hair is wrapped around the donut. To create the best results, she uses a small brush to comb through the hair on the donut, smoothing it out as it goes.
She also advises pulling your hair tight, telling fans, “Every time you pull it out, make sure you pull it tight, because if it’s not tight it’ll come loose.”
While this may sound like a lot of nonsense, the user claims it only takes seven minutes to create the look. Then all you have to do is lie down, untangle it in the morning and enjoy perfect curls.
If it saves us over £ 400 we will definitely give it a try.
